Pregnancy Weight Gain| when a woman is pregnant, her weight may go up several pounds per pregnancy. The amount of weight gain can depend on a variety of factors including the number of pregnancies she has had and how each pregnancy compares to the last. But at this point, all women need to know is how to gain weight without getting overly crazy about it. And that is what this article is about.
In the early days of pregnancy, the woman's weight gain is just naturally high. And sometimes, she needs to eat quite a bit. But her weight gain will likely slow down after a week or so when the hormones go down, the appetite decreases and the baby's weight gain slows down too. At this point, there will probably be some weight gain, but it will be significantly lower than at the beginning.
At the end of pregnancy, it is very likely that some weight gain will occur if the pregnancy is more complicated. There is a good chance that if the mother is older, her weight will go up a bit and she may not lose much of it. And some women may gain more weight at the end than at the beginning. But if the weight gain is low at this point, and if the baby is healthy, it is a normal outcome.
When a woman wants to gain weight but the weight gain is not going to be significant enough, the easiest way to do it is to add a few foods to the diet. Instead of adding more foods to the diet, consider adding one or two. Eat a little bit of every food type. And be sure that every food group is satisfying. Try to keep your calories as low as possible, so that it is easy to eat a little bit more every day.
Example foods that make a healthy way to gain weight include:
high fiber whole foods
spicy foods
occasionally, the foods above and protein-rich foods like beans, beef and egg whites (milk, cheese, meat, and eggs) can provide a small amount of extra calories that can be added to the diet without being a large part of a healthy diet.
Notice that I said a little bit of everything that makes up a healthy diet. Eating a variety of foods is important. Some foods, like meat, milk and eggs, provide nutrients that are important for good health. Other foods, like beans and low-fat dairy provide the health benefits of grains, meat and healthy fats. But the healthy diet should include other healthy foods that make it a healthy diet.
Some women need to eat small quantities of a specific food or nutrients on a regular basis in order to stay healthy. Those types of foods should be added to the diet. Just make sure that you choose your foods wisely and are eating healthy foods all of the time.
When the baby is born and the diet goes back to normal, there is very likely to be weight gain. Some women may gain more weight than others. In general, healthy weight gain happens at the beginning and then at the end of pregnancy. Some women gain weight all through the pregnancy, and then the extra weight is lost after the pregnancy.
