8 Good Reasons to Avoid Genetically Modified Foods (GMO)

8 Good Reasons to Avoid Genetically Modified Foods (GMO)

Genetically modified

Genetically modified microorganisms, or GMOs, are produced every time a gene from one species is moved to a different one, creating something that would not be present in the character.

Many home crops (up to 85% of soybean yields) have DNA that was modified within a laboratory, yet it is extremely difficult to understand which food products contain these genetically engineered elements. Fortunately, there are new cell phone apps that make it a bit easier for the consumer to know what they are eating, but this is not enough.

GMOs can be harmful to you, harmful to the city, harmful to maqui producers, and harmful to the atmosphere. For this reason:

The effects of eating genetically modify microorganisms are largely unknown.

Genetically engineered foods have not been shown to be safe to eat and could have unbelievable effects. When trans fats were first introduced, companies struggled to get them on supermarket shelves, which is only decades later that new foods have been shown to become very unhealthy. Many researchers are involved in genetically modified foods, once consumed, they can spread their mutant genes to bacteria within the digestive tract, similar to canola plants around the roadsides of North Dakota. How these new strains of bacteria can affect the balance of the body's systems is anyone's guess.

Food products containing GMOs are not labeled in the US Why so sneaky?

The EU has banned GMOs, as have Australia, Japan, the UK and two dozen other countries noting that shortcomings in long-term studies and testing could be hiding disastrous health flaws.

Genetic engineering reduces genetic diversity.

When genes tend to be more diverse, they are of better quality for this reason, a purebred dog tends to have greater health problems compared to the beloved stray dog. Plants with reduced genetic diversity cannot handle drought, fungal or insect invasions almost in addition to natural plants, which could have dire effects on maqui farmers and cities determined by GM crops for survival.

When mutant genes come out of the bag, there is no return.

Genetically modified microorganisms contaminate existing seed products using their modified material, creating modified traits for non-target species. This produces a new plant strain that was never intended in the laboratory. In North Dakota, recent reports reveal that 80% of the indomitable canola plants examined contained a minimum of one transgene. In Japan, an altered bacterium produced a new amino acid acidity that was not present in the character. It had been used in protein drinks and, before being remembered, it caused serious mental and metabolic damage to 100, in addition to several deaths. Japan banned GMOs after this ordeal. Monarch stars have also died after their favorite food, milkweed, was pollinated with a mix of Bt corn, rendering it toxic to endangered species.

GMOs are not the solution for world food security.

Genetically engineered crops have not shown an increase in yield or a reduction in pesticide use. Often times, other agricultural technologies have proven much more effective, and Monsanto agrees that this is a genetically engineered crop yield in conventional agriculture.

Genetically engineered foods have not been shown to be safe

however the two studies conducted do not seem all that attractive. The organs of rats that ate genetically modified potatoes showed signs of chronic wasting, and female rates, given that they ate too much herbicide-resistant soy, gave birth to stunted and sterile puppies.

Big biotech companies have very incomplete records, yet again, what can you anticipate from organizations wanting to patent the world's food?

These huge biotech companies have passed toxic pollution, misleading the general public and suing small maqui farmers when their proprietary seed products flew over the fence. Biotech companies sell sterile seed products to African maqui farmers, which means that the seed products are great for one season, as the plants that develop do not have the ability to reproduce. Maqui berry growers must purchase new seed products each year rather than grow the previous year's yield. GMOs are not friends of farmers.

GMOs require massive levels of pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides. These things are poisons and cannot be eaten or allowed to operate in our water supply. But they are, every day, companies that care much more about the bottom line compared to what they do about their health, their environment, or perhaps their children's future.

The bottom line is that genetically modified microorganisms have in no way been proven to be safe, and most of the research is actually leaning in the other direction, and that is why most nations of the world have banned these products whose DNA it continues to be genetically engineered. In the US, they are not even labeled, a lesser amount is prohibited, so much of the population has no idea that they are consuming lab-produced DNA every day.

Now your best defense would be to buy licensed organic foods, which cannot contain GMOs, and also inform your friends and family to complete the exact same thing.
